1. Vistula Boulevards

The Vistula Boulevards are one of the most popular cycling routes in Warsaw — ideal for both a short ride and a longer afternoon trip. The route runs along the Vistula River, from Gdański Bridge towards Siekierkowski Bridge, offering beautiful river views, city panoramas and plenty of spots to stop for a coffee or a break.

Wide paths, almost car-free riding and close proximity to the city centre make this a great choice for families, tourists and anyone who wants to see Warsaw from a cyclist’s perspective — calmly and without rushing.

2. Skaryszewski Park and Saska Kępa

The right bank of the Vistula has a completely different atmosphere. If you’re looking for a peaceful, green route filled with park scenery, a ride through Skaryszewski Park, considered one of the most beautiful parks in this part of Europe, is a must. Cycling along its park alleys goes hand in hand with relaxation among greenery, small bridges and views of Lake Kamionkowskie.

A natural extension of this route is Saska Kępa — a quiet, villa-style neighbourhood with low-rise buildings, old trees and calm streets. It’s the perfect place to slow down, stop for a coffee and experience a more local, pre-war side of Warsaw. This route is especially recommended in spring and summer.

3. Bielany Forest and the Vistula Embankment

Bielany offers some of the greenest cycling areas in Warsaw. Routes run along the Vistula River, flood embankments and sections of urban forest. It’s a great option for those who want to take a break from the city without travelling far beyond Warsaw’s borders.

This is an excellent weekend ride for families or groups of friends, with plenty of opportunities to stop in the shade, relax or enjoy a picnic in shelters or designated clearings.

4. Ursynów – Wilanów – Konstancin

For riders who enjoy longer distances, this route from Ursynów through Wilanów to Konstancin-Jeziorna is an ideal choice. Along the way, you pass the Wilanów Palace, the green areas of Powsin and the Botanical Garden of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The finish in Konstancin is a reward in itself — graduation towers, parks and quiet relaxation areas make it a perfect destination for a longer Saturday or Sunday ride.

5. Ride to Zegrze

If you’re in the mood for a full-day trip outside the city, the route from Warsaw to Zegrze is a great choice. It runs mainly along the Vistula River and the Żerań Canal. At the end, you’re rewarded with open water, sailboats and an almost holiday-like atmosphere.

It’s an excellent place for a longer break, an outdoor lunch or a moment of relaxation before heading back to the city.

Before you set off – a quick check-out

All of these routes are accessible and beginner-friendly, but it’s worth remembering a few things that can spoil a ride if you forget them.

Apps aren’t everything. Komoot or Google Maps are helpful, but sometimes it’s worth turning onto a path that simply looks interesting. Warsaw can surprise you with side streets that lead to some of the city’s best views.

Bike check matters. Check tyre pressure and brake condition. Nothing ruins a ride faster than a squeaky chain or poorly working gears.

Helmet. It’s not about regulations — it’s about common sense. Warsaw’s cycling paths can get busy, especially on sunny weekends.
