Light and speed sport bikes. Roadsters or race bikes have been primarily intended for fast hard ground racing.
Racing roadsters’ construction is strictly limited with a number of regulations considering technical details. All racing cycles have extremely light and delicate frames based on classic geometrical construction, very narrow smooth tires (with diameter from 0,5” on) which minimize the rolling resistance, and a “ram” handlebar forcing appropriate body position. Number of derailleurs varies with models, but the levers are usually integrated with bar ends. Today, roadsters, despite their original speed racing nature, were adopted mostly for city rides.
