The company was founded in 1995 by Phil White and Gerard Vroomen. Their goal was to produce the lightest and fastest road bikes on the market. The first series-produced Cervelo carbon bicycle frames weighing less than 1 kg appeared in 1996 and allowed the bicycle racing market to maximize performance.
Meanwhile, almost all major manufacturers have achieved the weight class imposed by Cervelo by producing their high-performance carbon frames. However, the Cervelo continues to set the pace with new aerodynamic concepts and a unique driving experience.
