Do you want to refresh your bike or give it a completely new look? At Wygodny Rower in Warsaw, we offer professional powder coating for bicycle frames. This is the perfect way to renovate your bike, protect the frame from corrosion, and enjoy a fresh color for many seasons to come.
Service availability: This service is available seasonally – from October 1st to February 28th.
We paint steel and aluminum frames, as well as metal components such as handlebars, rims, cranks, chainrings, steel chain guards, fenders, and brackets. You can choose any color from the RAL palette, with finish options in gloss, matte, or pearl.
The Painting Process Step-by-Step
Stage 1: Delivery and Cost Estimation
You can deliver your bike in its entirety – we will handle the disassembly, frame preparation, and reassembly after painting. The cost of disassembly, preparation, and reassembly starts from 450 PLN (individual quote depending on the model and complexity). Please note: We paint steel and aluminum bikes only.
Stage 2: Preparing the Frame for Painting
If you prefer to prepare the bike yourself, no problem! Here are some important tips:

The frame must be completely stripped of all installed parts (cables, housings, etc.). Remove cable stops, brackets, and press-fit plastic elements – these must be removed as powder coating is cured at high temperatures and they will be destroyed. Remove all threaded metal parts (if left, they will be coated in paint, making future removal very difficult).

You must remove the headset crown race from the fork.

Protecting threads: If you wish to protect small threads (e.g., for luggage racks or shifter bosses), leave “disposable” bolts in them. Ensure they can be gripped with a wrench – do not leave bolts that require a flat-head screwdriver.
Proper preparation ensures an even coat and a perfect final result.
Stage 3: Sandblasting and Surface Cleaning
Before painting, we remove old paint layers and traces of corrosion (rust) using sandblasting. For aluminum components, paint is first removed chemically, followed by light sandblasting if necessary to ensure ideal paint adhesion.
Stage 4: Powder Coating
This is the key stage. The chosen RAL color is applied electrostatically and then cured in an oven at approx. 180°C. Powder coating provides even coverage, high resistance to scratches and weather conditions, and a premium look.
Stage 5: Reassembly and Collection
After painting, we reassemble the bike and test its performance. We recommend replacing worn-out consumable parts (cables, etc.) during reassembly. The final quote for assembly and repairs is provided individually upon bike delivery. Average turnaround time is up to 14 business days (may be longer for complex designs).
