August is one of the best months to explore Warsaw from the saddle. The days are still long, the weather is perfect for evening rides, and weekends are ideal for longer cycling trips. We’ve prepared a guide to the most interesting cycling routes in Warsaw – from calm riverside paths, through parks and green squares, to more demanding stretches perfect for training.

1. Vistula Boulevards – a cycling classic in the heart of the city

Distance: approx. 8 km (one way)
Route: Gdański Bridge – Copernicus Science Centre – PGE National Stadium – Siekierkowski Bridge

The Vistula Boulevards are a must-visit for every Warsaw cyclist. Wide paths, beautiful river views, and numerous cafés along the way make it the perfect spot for an after-work ride. Make a stop at the Multimedia Fountain Park or cross to the right bank to enjoy the vibe of the city beach.

Pro tip: In the evening, the boulevards are well-lit, so you can ride here safely after dark – just make sure your bike lights are working.

2. Skaryszewski Park and Praga District

Distance: approx. 5–10 km (with loops)
Route: PGE National Stadium – Skaryszewski Park – Kamionek – Lake Kamionkowskie

If you’re looking for a peaceful, green route, Skaryszewski Park is a perfect choice. Connected to a network of cycle paths in Praga, it allows for both leisurely rides and training sessions. In summer, combine your ride with a picnic on the grass or a coffee stop at one of the nearby cafés on Grochowska Street.

3. Bielany – the green north of Warsaw

Distance: 12–20 km
Route: Młociny – Bielański Forest – Młociński Forest – Vistula embankments

Bielany is a real paradise for nature lovers. Picturesque bike paths run along the Vistula, while the Bielański and Młociński forests provide pleasant shade on hot days. It’s a great option for a weekend family outing – the route is mostly flat and safe.

Pro tip: On your way back, stop by Wilson Square and check out Żoliborz’s cosy cafés.

4. Ursynów – Wilanów – Konstancin

Distance: 25–35 km
Route: Ursynów – Wilanów Palace – Powsin – Konstancin-Jeziorna

This route is perfect for those who want to combine city riding with suburban recreational areas. Starting in Ursynów, you’ll pass Wilanów Palace, drop by the Botanical Garden in Powsin, and finish at the salt graduation towers in Konstancin. Ideal for a Saturday or Sunday leisure ride.

5. Kampinos National Park – an adventure just around the corner

Distance: 30 km and up (depending on the chosen loop)
Route: Warsaw Bemowo – Izabelin – Truskaw – forest border

For lovers of longer trips, Kampinos offers guaranteed contact with nature and varied terrain. In summer, it’s best to start early in the morning to avoid the heat. Bring a water bottle and basic tools – there aren’t many service points in the forest.
